Welcome to CSC’s New Treasurer

It is our pleasure to welcome Diane Wolverton, D.Min. to the position of treasurer for CSC.  Diane graduated from University of Creation Spirituality with her Doctor of Ministry in 2006.  She brings a great deal of business expertise to CSC as she has served as Director of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center since 1995. Diane is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Wyoming and has been an active member of the National Association of Small Business Development Centers and served two terms as chair of the association board of directors.  She is the author of the book, Return of the Yin: A Tale of Peace and Hope for a Troubled World, and a contributor to the book, If Women Ruled the World: How to Create the World We Want to Live In-Stories, Ideas and Inspiration for Change. In her role as treasurer of CSC, Diane will serve as bookkeeper and will help CSC develop a strategic plan for sustainable growth through visioning, program development and fund raising.   If you have ideas for fund-raising and business development for CSC, feel free to contact Diane at: ddw@bresnan.net

CREATION SPIRITUALITY CARDS – A NEW IDEA

One of our D.Min. colleagues, Peggy Short, has had a small hand-made and custom card business, Wabi-Ware.  She makes Magdalene and Guadalupe cards and blessing boxes for Sagrada Sacred Arts in Oakland, for example.  Recently, Peggy has created a line of Creation Spirituality Community (CSC) greeting cards - using quotations from mystics, celestial objects for decoration, or images of Earth to accompany Thomas Berry quotes. 

These CSC cards can be found added to her Wabi-Ware website at  http://www.wabiware.com/csc/.  Other non-CSC cards, some with other quotations, are in the Gallery pages in the Products page of www.wabi-ware.com.

What Peggy loves to do is to customize cards for individuals.  So, if you have a favorite quote or theme, or if you have certain nature themes to accompany the quotes she has listed, send her an e-mail with your ideas.  She will make up cards incorporating your ideas for you, and she offers discounts for quantities.  20% of the cost of the cards is returned to Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc; plus Wabi-Ware uses biodegradable plastic sleeves for cards and plants trees to offset the paper use through a website Peggy helped to create with some other organizations in her community in Fort Collins, Colorado (www.replanttrees.org).

CSC’s database was constructed out of all manner of disparate pieces of other lists.  Some old, some new, many duplications, and sadly, we suspect, some missed.  Much of the work in consolidating our working list was done voluntarily by Penny Moulis—to whom we are most indebted.
