Studying and practicing Creation Spirituality has been a natural evolution of my spiritual growth and personal development.  The four paths name the sacred in my life and inspire the co-creative process.

I began taking courses with Matthew Fox in 1994 and graduated with my Doctor of Ministry in 2006 from the University of Creation Spirituality(1). My intention in pursuing this work was to integrate it into the work I do as a healthcare administrator but creativity knows no bounds and the result has been Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc. and a newly developing CS community in Colorado where I reside.

In October 2005 at Chartres France, Matthew Fox and I had a conversation that would catapult CSC into existence. Between Matt's work on his book, A New Reformation, and a confirming ineffable experience that I had while in Chartres, the groundwork was set to launch a new reformation - in the form of a network of creation spirituality communities!

My livelihood:  A family and individual therapist for a decade followed by a decade as an administrator/executive director of psychiatric treatment programs, I am now partnering with my husband to expand his Whole Body Psychiatry(2) practice into an outpatient clinic that exemplifies our passion to treat the whole person.  In this context, I will integrate my counseling experience with my theological training to offer Spiritual Direction.(3)

My dissertation project, a collection of essays entitled, Break My Heart Wide Open uses personal storytelling and my favorite myth, that of Persephone and Demeter, to look at experiences of the dark night of the soul (the via negativa) and the transformation (the via transformativa)that can occur through suffering.  This is a reflection of the work I enjoy doing with people via a compassionate and contemplative environment.

My passions:
  •         A marriage of Buddhism and Creation Spirituality/Western Mystical         Christianity in real life with my Buddhist husband - the rubber hits the         road in practicing spirituality in relationship!
  •         The creative process - from art making to business making, allowing           new images and healing opportunities to emerge (the via creativa)
  •         Celebrating with family and friends (two-legged or four-legged);         sharing a meal, taking a hike, working together, worshiping, writing         poems - having fun (the via positiva)!

Thanks for visiting; I hope that the site is helpful to you and is an aide in finding a CS community or nourishing the one that you already have. It is indeed time to reinvent our spiritual communities and honor the Mystery and Sacredness of All Creation in the process.
